The credit card audit

Every purchase earned points.
Just fewer than they could have.

MaxMyPoints reads a year of your statements, re-scores every purchase against every rewards card we track, and shows you — line by line — the points the wrong card cost you. Then it hands you the fix.

Money-back guarantee: find less than $29 of missed value and you pay nothing.

How it works

One audit. Every card you own, against every rewards card we track.

No spreadsheets, no blog posts about “the best card for groceries.” Your actual spending decides.

STEP 1

Load a year of spending

Connect your cards through Plaid’s encrypted, read-only link — or upload statements as CSV, OFX, or PDF. We see transactions, never card numbers or credentials.

STEP 2

Run your audit

One press. Every purchase is re-scored against the earning rates of every card in our catalog — annual fees, category caps, and portal bookings all accounted for.

STEP 3

Get the routing plan

A category-by-category playbook: which of your cards to swipe where, which card (if any) is worth adding, and what the whole strategy is worth per year — after fees.

What the audit hands you

Numbers you can act on, not a score.

01Your missed points, proven

Line-by-line: what each purchase earned on the card you used, and what it would have earned on the best card. Totaled by category, valued in dollars — at standard rates and at high-end transfer-partner rates.

02Fee-honest recommendations

A $795 premium card that out-earns a free card by $50 is a bad deal — our engine knows it. Every suggestion is scored net of its annual fee, and you can toggle cards in and out to compare strategies live.

03What those points could have booked

Business class to Tokyo. A week in an overwater villa. Your missed points shown as the real-world trips they could have covered — because “54,000 points” means more as a boarding pass.

04Welcome bonuses, reality-checked

Sign-up bonuses only count when your actual spending would clear the minimum-spend threshold in time. We tell you which offers you’d genuinely earn — not just which ones look big.

The no-risk math

If the audit doesn’t pay for itself, it’s free.

The personal audit costs $29, once. If it finds less than $29 of missed points value, request a refund inside 14 days and get every cent back. Either the audit finds you more than it costs — or it costs nothing. There is no third outcome.

FAQ

Fair questions.

How do you access my transactions?
Read-only, two ways: an encrypted Plaid connection (the same rails most budgeting apps use), or statements you upload yourself. We never see card numbers or bank credentials, and nothing we have can move money.
Will this affect my credit score?
No. There is no credit check and no hard or soft pull. We read transaction history only, and we never apply for a card on your behalf — if the audit suggests a card, applying is entirely your decision and approval is the issuer’s.
Which credit card should I use for groceries?
That depends on which cards you already hold, which is why a generic answer is usually wrong. The audit reads your actual grocery spending, compares what it earned against every card in your wallet and every card we track, and names the one that would have earned most — after annual fees.
Which credit cards do you support?
Rewards cards from Chase, American Express, Capital One, Citi, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Discover and Bilt, including airline and hotel co-brands from United, Southwest, Delta, American Airlines, Alaska, Marriott, Hyatt and Hilton. Every card is hand-verified and re-checked daily. If you hold something we don’t track, you can enter its rates yourself.
What if the audit finds nothing?
Then it’s free. If your missed-points value comes in under the $29 price, request a refund within 14 days of purchase and the full amount comes back. Run your audit inside that window to keep the guarantee.
Do I have to keep paying?
No. The $29 audit is one-time, with a year of access to your results. The Rolling Annual upgrade exists for people whose audit proved worth repeating — it’s optional, and it’s +$70 only after you’ve seen your numbers.
Is this financial advice?
No — it’s arithmetic on your own statements. We show what each purchase earned versus what it could have earned, using published card earning rates. What you do with the math is up to you.

Your statements already know the answer.

One $29 audit tells you what last year cost you and exactly how to stop it — or it refunds itself. That’s the whole pitch.
